Youth unions of Gomel Oblast, Kursk Oblast sign cooperation agreement

GOMEL, 8 October (BelTA) – The Gomel regional committee of the BRSM Youth Union and the Kursk regional youth public organization United Center Monolith have signed a cooperation agreement, BelTA learnt from Second Secretary of the regional youth organization Alesya Vinnik. The document was signed in Kursk during festivities timed to the 980th anniversary of the city. Representatives of the youth organization of Gomel were present there. The cooperation agreement envisages an all-round cooperation between the two youth unions. They will share best practices, information, develop joint projects, take part in various events. Alesya Vinnik noted that the cooperation of young people from the two regions of Belarus and Russia started in 2004. Back then youth unions launched a joint project to share expertise and knowledge. The project provided for participation of activists of the Gomel regional organization of the BRSM Youth Union in the International Youth Leader Camp “We are Together!” that is held in Kursk Oblast every summer. The camp is organized by the United Center Monolith. The Gomel regional organization of the BRSM Youth Union traditionally invites young people from Kursk Oblast to take part in the Slavonic youth camp Druzhba on the border of Belarus, Ukraine and Russia. Alesya Vinnik noted that it is not the only cooperation agreement signed with youth unions of Russia. Young people from Gomel Oblast maintain links with the youth from Bryansk Oblast and Oryol Oblast of Russia and Chernigov Oblast of Ukraine. This year alone almost 25 major joint events will be held. They include interregional and open KVN cups, competitions, contests and festivals, sports and tourist events and joint commemorative events.
