Alexander Lukashenko: Belarus grateful to Ukraine for support in Eastern Partnership Programme

GOMEL, May 6 (BelTA) – Belarus is grateful to the Ukrainian side for the support in the Eastern Partnership Programme, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said after his meeting with Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko in Gomel on May 6. Alexander Lukashenko has showed an interest in participation in the Eastern Partnership projects which meet the interests of the Belarusian people. “We take part in European affairs not against somebody but in the interests of our people and economy,” he underscored. “We thank you that you have done a lot for Belarus to join the Eastern Partnership Programme”, Alexander Lukashenko said addressing Viktor Yushchenko. The Belarusian President noted that the agenda of today’s talks with the Ukrainian President included issues of the bilateral relations and the Eastern Partnership.
