Alexander Lukashenko urges local deputies to keep their words, work with people more

PETRIKOV REGION, 27 April (BelTA) – The newly-elected deputies of the local councils should keep their promises and work with people more, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said as he spoke with the residents of the Petrikov region of the Gomel oblast on 27 April. “I know that the elections were valid in almost all the constituencies. The newly-elected deputies are reasonable people who are able to work. There are also representatives from the opposition,” Alexander Lukashenko said. According to him, some government officials expressed some kind of concern over this fact. “I told them: don’t worry, the opposition is not homogeneous, there are decent people among them,” the head of state stressed. He believes that if people vote for a person, they know him and trust him. “On the whole, as far as I was informed, the deputy corps has been formed at all the levels,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
