Belarus and Vietnam can increase trade almost ten times in two or three years and this is the goal the countries want to achieve, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said during a meeting with Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nong Duc Manh. In 2007, the bilateral trade amounted to $63.3 million what, as Alexander Lukashenko believes, is not enough. The President of Belarus said that during the talks with his Vietnamese counterpart they agreed that there are no closed topics in the bilateral cooperation. “We are ready to do everything for Vietnam you ask us about and offer us,” the Belarusian head of state said. “On my visit I am accompanied by the chiefs of the most important ministries, companies. Many of them have already signed contracts concerning further development of interaction between the two countries. We are ready to identify the list of goods which we will buy from Vietnam,” Alexander Lukashenko said. He also invited Nong Duc Manh to visit Belarus. Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nong Duc Manh called the visit of Alexander Lukashenko as an important event and expressed hope that the visit will help enhance the current level of the relations between the two countries.
