Belarus, Brazil to implement mutually beneficial economic projects

It is imperative for Belarus and Brazil to fill the bilateral relations with mutually beneficial economic projects including setting up joint ventures and assemblies, diversifying the production lineup. The decision was taken at a meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Vasily Dolgolev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil to Russia Carlos Antonio da Rocha Paranhos in Moscow, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission. The diplomats paid special attention to the issues of trade and economic relations, discussed the political constituent of the bilateral relations, opportunities to expand interstate contacts and intensify the inter-parliamentary cooperation. The two sides praised a high level of collaboration within the international organisations. The Brazilian diplomat expressed gratitude to the authorities of Belarus for support of Brazil’s positions in expanding the staff of the permanent members of the UN Security Council. Belarus considers Brazil as a decent candidate for a permanent member of the UN Security Council, the press service said. Brazil is Belarus’ largest trading partner in Latin America. Over the ten months of 2008 the bilateral trade more than tripled over the same point of last year to total $1.201 billion. In January-October 2008, the Belarusian exports reached $1.069 billion. Belarus posted $936,6 worth of trade surplus.
