Belarus may use Dutch technology to make fuel out of waste

KALINKOVICHI DISTRICT, 13 August (BelTA) – The Netherlands is ready to share a unique waste processing technology with Belarus. The matter was discussed as Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky met with Paul Marcel Kurpershoek, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Poland with concurrent accreditation to Belarus, on 13 August. The negotiations took place in the town of Kalinkovichi during a working trip of the Belarusian head of government to Gomel Oblast, BelTA has learned. Among other things the sides discussed the Netherlands’ participation in building major waste-processing facilities in Belarus. The Netherlands has come up with a technology to process waste into fuel that can be used to generate heat. The technology has not been made public yet. The Netherlands is ready to provide the technology to Belarus. It is possible that the negotiations touched upon specific details of the future cooperation in this area.
