Belarus open for constructive cooperation, Alexander Lukashenko says

MINSK, April 3 (BelTA) – Belarus is open for constructive and multifaceted cooperation with states or groups of states irrelevant of their geographic position, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said as he received the credentials from heads of the diplomatic missions of Israel, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Qatar, Kuwait, and Namibia. According to the President, the mutual readiness of partners to cultivate equitable and respectful relations has always been the main component of success of such cooperation. Talking to the Ambassador of Afghanistan, Alexander Lukashenko underlined that Belarus wants a prompt settlement of conflicts in Afghanistan with UN leading the peacekeeping efforts in the country. Belarusian enterprises are ready to expand their exports to Afghanistan to restore the country’s economy, the President added. “We are greatly concerned about the situation in your country. I am convinced that in the near future, the people of Afghanistan will rise from their knees and occupy the place they deserve in the international community. We would like it to happen very much,” the head of state said. The Ambassador of Afghanistan, in turn, expressed his hope that thanks to the international support the country will be able to overcome difficulties. Belarus is ready to step up trade relations with Bangladesh. According to the President, Belarus can offer Bangladesh its products that enjoy a great demand around the world due to the optimal price/quality ratio. Receiving credentials from new Ambassadors of Kuwait and Namibia, Alexander Lukashenko underlined that Belarus is willing to enter a new level of cooperation with these countries in various areas. “The distance between our countries should not be an obstacle for harmonious development of our relations,” the Belarusian leader said. Addressing all the new heads of diplomatic missions in Belarus, the President expressed hope that they will be able to shape and deliver an objective and unbiased understanding of Belarus – a young sovereign state pursuing an independent, multivector foreign policy and playing a key role in maintaining security and stability in Europe.
