Belarus to take out loan from China to build sodium carbonate factory

MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – Belarus will hold negotiations with the Export-Import Bank of China to discuss financing for the project to build a sodium carbonate factory in Mozyr District, Gomel Oblast. The plans are laid down by Council of Ministers resolution No. 1241 of 17 September 2011, the press service of the Belarusian government told BelTA. A draft credit agreement on a buyer credit has been approved as the basis for the negotiations. The agreement is between the Finance Ministry acting on behalf of the Belarusian government and the Export-Import Bank of China. The project envisages building a factory able to turn out 300,000 tonnes of sodium carbonate per annum. First Deputy Finance Minister Vladimir Amarin has been authorized to hold the negotiations.
