Belarusian-Chinese vacuum, plasma research lab opened in Nanjing

MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) – A Belarusian-Chinese laboratory to research vacuum and plasma technologies has been opened in the Chinese city of Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, representatives of the Embassy of Belarus in China told BelTA. The lab will work out new technologies in the area of polymer and carbon surfacing, new promising materials, which are used in mechanical engineering, medicine and other industries. Consul Ambassador of the Embassy of Belarus in China Vadim Senyuta took part in the opening ceremony upon the invitation of the Rector of the Nanjing University of Science and Technology. Rector of the Frantsisk Skorina Gomel State University, Professor Alexander Rogachev and Rector of the Nanjing University of Science and Technology Wang Xiaofen took part in the presentation as well as department heads of the Industry and Information Technologies Ministry of China, the State Office for Foreign Specialists, the Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province. The foundation of such applied centers in association with provinces and regions of China contributes to the formation of an effective mechanism of cooperation between the two countries in the area of the assimilation of new and high technologies, representatives of the embassy said. As part of the visit of the delegation of the Nanjing University of Science and Technology to Belarus in June 2012 a similar joint lab was opened in Gomel. The creation of joint labs based on the universities of Gomel and Nanjing will allow making scientific ties between the universities stronger, will allow carrying out joint fundamental research and preparing scientific publications.
