Belarusian-Chinese venture rolls out ear corn harvesters

GOMEL, 23 August (BelTA) – The Belarusian-Chinese joint venture Harbin Dong Jin Gomel Agricultural Mechanical Engineering Enterprise (Heilongjiang province, China) has rolled out the first self-propelled harvesters to collect ear corn, representatives of the Non-CIS Sales Office of the Belarusian mechanical engineering company Gomselmash told BelTA. BelTA reported earlier that the joint venture is supposed to assemble about 1,000 ear corn harvesters this year. About half of them will be used to harvest corn. The corn harvesting campaign in Heilongjiang Province will begin in mid-September. Specialists say that in the next few days the company will start making these machines in big lots. Over 200 vehicles are more than 90% ready. The delay of mass production has been caused by delays in deliveries of local components, which share stands at 35%. The ear corn harvester has been designed by Gomselmash. An improved version is being tested in Belarus. Two of these will be delivered to China by the start of the mass corn harvesting campaign. The Belarusian-Chinese joint venture Harbin Dong Jin Gomel Agricultural Mechanical Engineering Enterprise was founded by Gomselmash and the Chinese corporation Dong Jin Group in 2009. Last year the enterprise was busy assembling forage harvesters KSK-600 Palesse FS60. This year the product choice has been expanded with a corn harvester.
