Belarusian delegation to attend Russian Press Congress

Around 1,000 people from 65 countries will take part in the 10th Russian Press Congress that opens in Moscow on June 11. The Congress has been organised by the Itar-Tass news agency and the World Association of Russian Press. Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan have sent the most representative delegations, BelTA was told in the World Association of Russian Press. At the invitation of the organising committee, attending the forum will be the chiefs of the news agencies – Itar-Tass partners from China, Japan Iran, Kuwait, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Greece and several other countries. The Belarusian news agency BelTA that is also an Itar-Tass partner will be represented by its Director General Dmitry Zhuk. The forum will focus on the problems of development of the global Russian-language information space, protection of the Russian language and modern state of Russian-language foreign press and the role of the Russian language in the development of the world civilization. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will be guests of the Russian Press Congress. UNESCO Director General Koichiro Matsuura will make a speech at the opening of the Congress.
