Belarusian nonwovens ‘a success’ at INDEX 11 expo

MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) – Belarusian nonwoven materials AquaSpan and Spanbel by the Svetlogorsk-based Khimvolokno have caught attention of large European processers and traders, BelTA learnt from the company. The company said that in April Geneva (Switzerland) hosted the world’s leading nonwovens exhibition, INDEX 11. This triennial occasion is considered to be exhibition No. 1 for nonwovens and supporting industries. Among the regular visitors of the expo are people engaged in such fields as filtration and separation, automotive business, medicine, healthcare, packaging, construction and many others using nonwovens and technical textile. It was the first time the Belarusian company took part in this Europe’s largest forum. The Belarusian producer displayed a wide range of nonwovens of new generation AquaSpan and Spanbel. These materials provide specific functions such as high strength, low migration of fiber under mechanical treatment, softness. They are used as isolation and geotextile material, floor coating and upholstery, filtering, in agriculture, for heat and noise insulation in construction, etc. AquaSpan and Spanbel have gained popularity in the production of one-use medical and hygienic items. This segment of market requires only high-quality products. AquaSpan and Spanbel do not contain harmful substances for human health, and that has been confirmed by the Eco-Tex Standard 100 international certificate. The company stressed that Belarusian nonwovens for hygiene, medicine construction, furniture, road, agriculture and other industries were of great interest among foreign consumers. Svetlogorsk Khimvolokno held negotiations on pilot consignments for large European processers and traders. Founded in 1964, the Svetlogorsk-based company Khimvolokno is one of the biggest companies of the Belarusian petrochemical industry. Khimvolokno’s enterprises produce polyester textile fibers, synthetic fibers, carbon and polymeric materials, consumer goods. Khimvolokno exports its products to over 40 countries.
