Gomel hosts Russia’s Victory in 1812 War exhibition

GOMEL, 7 December (BelTA) – A photo exhibition, The 200th Anniversary of Russia’s Victory in the 1812 War, from the stocks of the State History Museum of Moscow opened in Gomel on 7 December, BelTA learnt from the Gomel Palace and Park Ensemble of the Rumyantsevs-Paskeviches. The exposition is presented by the Russian Science and Culture Center in Minsk. Gomel residents will see 17 exhibition tablets illustrating the most significant moments in the 1812 war including those which took place in Belarus. The expo also displays copies of documents and archive materials. The program of the exhibition will include the screening of a music and drama picture to mark the 230th birthday of outstanding Russian commander, former owner of the Gomel estate Ivan Paskevich who took a direct part in the 1812 war.
