Gomel, Serbia’s Novi Sad to forge new ties

MINSK, 2 February (BelTA) – A delegation of Gomel led by Gomel Mayor Viktor Pilipets visited the city of Novi Sad, Serbia, on 31 January-1 February. The delegation also included Rector of the Gomel State University Alexander Rogachev, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry. The Gomel officials met with the local authorities, visited the local university and the branch of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Novi Said, held talks at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vojvodina and with the administration of the autonomous region. The parties reached preliminary agreements to facilitate contacts between organizations of the two cities. Cooperation agreements between the cities and the local universities were signed. The delegation was invited to see an exposition of modern Belarusian graphics in the Community Center of Novi Sad. The exposition was solemnly opened on 31 January.
