Gomel to choose Polesie Beauty on 9 February

MINSK, 31 January (BelTA) – The final show of the Polesie Beauty 2013 contest will be held in Gomel on 9 February, BelTA learnt from First Deputy Head of the Culture Department of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Olga Antonenko. The first regional beauty pageant Polesie Beauty 2013 was launched in Gomel Oblast in December 2012 with assistance of the Chrystal Nymph fashion and beauty center and the Culture Department. District selection rounds were held in Mozyr, Bragin, Svetlogorsk, Petrikov, Kalinkovichi, Buda-Koshelevo, Zhlobin and Gomel. Fifteen contestants were short-listed to participate in the final show that will be held on 9 February. “The preparation for the show is in full swing. The organizers invited professional hairdressers, makeup artists, famous Belarusian designers and stylists. The girls are learning how to walk on a runway and are taking part in photo sessions. Winners will be chosen in several categories. They will get a job offer from Chrystal Nymph and other modeling agencies. There are plans to turn this contest into an international event and invite beauties from the border regions of Russia and Ukraine,” Olga Antonenko noted. The final show will feature performances of popular Belarusian singers and a fashion show of collections of Belarusian and foreign designers.
