Gomel to host Sozhsky Karagod festival 15-18 September
GOMEL, 4 July (BelTA) – The 6th International Dance Festival Sozhsky Karagod will take place in Gomel on 15-18 September, BelTA learned from the Culture Department of Gomel City Hall. Partaking in the festival will be folk and modern dance companies, ballroom dancers, Belarusian fire dance theaters and foreign dance companies. The festival will also welcome classic dance companies, ballet theatres, professional choreographers, laureates of international festivals, etc. The festivals’ schedule includes presentations of dance companies, solo and joint performances of the festival’s participants, an international ballroom dancing tournament, a round table dedicated to the development of art, and other events. The festival will also include numerous events organized under the project Gomel – Belarus and CIS Capital of Culture 2011. For instance, Gomel will be the venue for concerts by the best artists from the twin cities of the oblast capital . Festival is aimed at preserving, developing and promoting choreography, expanding and strengthening international creative ties, establishing cooperation between national cultures. The forum is organized by the Belarusian Culture Ministry, Gomel City Hall and the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee.БЕЛТА
