GRODNO, 9 August (BelTA) - An international woodcutters’ plein-air will kick off in the agro-tourist compound Garadzensky Mayontak Karobchitsy of Grodno Meat-Packing Plant on 9 August, BelTA learnt from the development and marketing office of the plant. The event will be running from 9 to 18 August ajd will be attended by famous woodcutters from Poland, Lithuania, Russia and Belarus. This will be the fourth such event hosted by Garadzensky Mayontak Karobchitsy. Every year a new topic is chosen for the plein-air. This year the topic is Animals and Human Beings: Together Over a Century. It has become a tradition that the plein-air participants donate the sculptures to Grodno Oblast after the plein-air session is over. For example, Grodno Meat-Packing Plant buys these sculptures to adorn the walkways of the Garadzensky Mayontak Karobchitsy agrotourist complex. Garadzensky Mayontak Karobchitsy is a mixture of natural and architectural ensemble in the open air. The 18-hectare area features a stable, a flora and fauna museum, a blacksmith shop, woodcutter’s workshop, fisherman and hunter’s house, artificial lakes and open-air cages, and the Zamak Zevany restaurant. Half of the territory is an area of outstanding natural beauty with wild boars, dappled deer, elks and other animals living here. The complex regularly hosts various social and cultural events.
