Israel to invest $0.5bn in Belarusian silicon valley

MINSK, June 4 (BelTA) – Israeli businessmen are ready to invest $500 million in the Belarusian silicon valley, Avigdor Lieberman, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister of Israel, told a briefing in Minsk on June 4. “I hope this will be a flagship project that will bring other investors to Belarus,” Avigdor Lieberman said. Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergei Martynov, in turn, pointed out the modest scale of the trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Israel. According to Sergei Martynov, the bilateral cooperation in agriculture and food, tourism and IT looks very promising. He mentioned a possibility of Israeli participation in Belarusian energy programmes.
