Lukashenko: I will not tolerate election rigging

MINSK, 29 October (BelTA) – I will not tolerate election rigging, said Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko when he was talking to Brest residents as he took a walk about Brest’s downtown on 29 October. “I have never rigged election. I know that you elected me by overwhelming majority,” said the President. He added that as the first Belarus President he should do everything possible to prevent the future presidents from making a mistake. “I should do everything right. I will never tolerate vote rigging,” stressed the President once again. In his words, “we have missed a lot, but at the same time we have done more than others.” The President said that he always tries to fulfill everything he had ever promised. “If the economy functions better, you will be richer, pensions and salaries will be higher,” Alexander Lukashenko said. Speaking on the upcoming election, Alexander Lukashenko said that it is always up to the people. He also mentioned those, who consider withdrawing their candidacies. “What is the problem? The people do not support them; the signatures have not been collected. What is it my fault?” says the President.
