Makei: Discontent with political processes is no reason to intervene in internal affairs of a state

MINSK, 24 June (BelTA) – Discontent with economic, political, social processes gives no right to intervene in the internal affairs of a sovereign state, said Head of the Belarus President Administration Vladimir Makei at a plenary session of the Belarusian International Media Forum, Partnership in the Name of the Future: Patriotism, Spirituality, and Unification. Vladimir Makei stressed that Belarus fulfills its international obligations and plays an active part in the fight with international crime, drug trafficking, etc. People of various nationalities and faiths in Belarus enjoy good relations, thousands of Belarusians work and study in the neighboring countries. The results of the presidential election demonstrate that the overwhelming majority of voters once again spoke in the support of the political and social line of the President. Of course, there are people who adhere to another point of view. Certain leaders of the EU nations and the USA do not like the situation in Belarus, but it is not the reason to intervene in the internal affairs of the sovereign nation, which is, in fact, is one of the United Nations founders. “Look what happens. Certain policymakers of the EU countries had set a goal to change the constitutional order in Belarus and topple the current administration,” said Vladimir Makei. He sees no ground for it. And such systematic furious attacks of the EU are difficult to explain in a rational way. Vladimir Makei believes that mass media play an extremely negative role in these processes. Most journalists, who come to the country to see the real state of things, in private talks point at such positive things as clean cities and villages, and the steady economic development. But then they write their articles according to ready-made directions. Most information about Belarus in foreign media is biased. But such things are unacceptable, Vladimir Makei said.
