Molodechno hosts Dazhynki harvest festival

MOLODECHNO, 30 September (BelTA) – Dazhynki-2011 nationwide harvest festival kicks off in Molodechno today, BelTA has learnt. The main feast of grain-growers will be held in Minsk Oblast for the third time. Nesvizh hosted the festival in 1998, Slutsk – in 2005. The festival in Molodechno was preceded by the construction of new social and cultural facilities, dwelling units, major repairs and makeover of residential compounds, utility systems, and roads. The city has also acquired a number of new sights. Among them are the Protection of the Holy Mary composition, a bronze passenger sculpture, and new fountains. The program of the festival will include eight concert venues with popular Belarusian singer Alexander Solodukha to perform on one of them, a town of craftsmen and trading fairs. The regional museum will invite to attend the opening of its exposition about the history and culture of Minsk Oblast. The heads of the regions which hosted the festival will lay down an alley of the Dazhynki history. Among the other events of the festival will be a festive procession and an award ceremony of the best agricultural workers.
