Seven draft technical regulations to be submitted to Customs Union Commission

MINSK, 10 October (BelTA) - Seven draft technical regulations will be shortly submitted for consideration of the Commission of the Customs Union, Chairman of the State Standardization Service of Belarus Valery Koreshkov told reporters. “We expect that the Commission of the Customs Union will adopt a number of technical regulations soon,” said Valery Koreshkov. The technical regulations apply to auto and aviation petrol, diesel fuel, grain safety, safety of machinery and equipment used in explosive environments. The technical regulations on the safety of machines and equipment have been prepared. “Work is underway. Maybe we will complete drafting the regulation on the safety of goods products before the next meeting of the Commission of the Customs Union,” said Valery Koreshkov. In addition, the work on another five technical regulations of the Customs Union is nearing completion. These regulations apply to product safety in the light industry, EMC of technical means, labeling of food products, personal protective equipment, and security of wheeled vehicles. These regulations cover quite a few areas of industrial development and, in general, the economic development of the Customs Union. The Customs Union has adopted nine technical regulations. They apply to the safety of low-voltage equipment, products for children and adolescents, packages, toys, fireworks, perfumery and cosmetic products. Three technical regulations apply to rail transport. As noted by Valery Koreshkov, these documents take into account the most advanced requirements to ensure the free movement of goods and services. Technical regulations have the force of law and are binding for all market participants. Therefore both manufacturers and suppliers need to plan activities to ensure the production of goods conforming to the requirements of technical regulations in the future. There is enough time for manufacturers to get prepared for this process.
