Sidorsky, Putin discuss trade and economic cooperation

MINSK, 24 December (BelTA) - In a telephone call on 24 December Prime Ministers of Belarus and Russia Sergei Sidorsky and Vladimir Putin spoke about further development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, spokesman for the Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Timoshenko told BelTA. “The Prime Ministers discussed measures taken by governments of the two countries towards closer integration within the Single Economic Space. In particular, Sergei Sidorsky noted that Belarus has ratified the entire package of agreements making part of the SES legal framework,” Alexander Timoshenko said. The Prime Ministers also discussed the effectiveness of the measures taken by Belarus and Russia to mitigate the impact of the global financial crisis, including in the automotive industry. “In this regard, Sergei Sidorsky and Vladimir Putin discussed the possibilities of closer cooperation and integration of the automotive industries of Russia and Belarus. This applies both to the production of trucks and production of components for cars,” Alexander Timoshenko said. During the telephone conversation the Prime Ministers also discussed issues regarding the formation of gas prices for Belarus in 2011.
