Support will be provided to auxiliary productions in countryside, Alexander Lukashenko says

The state intends to invest in setting up auxiliary productions in countryside, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko noted during his visit to the agro-town of Geraneny. Such productions are needed in order to prevent an outflow of people who are made redundant as a result of the modernization of agricultural production. The locals in Geraneny faced the problem of job finding after the renovated farm started utilizing up-to-date technologies and reduced the number of employees from 30 to 12 people. Alexander Lukashenko noted that the problem of laid-off workforce is objective and needs to be anticipated. New productions should be created in advance. Speaking with the locals, the President noted that the state takes care of rural regions but they also should contribute to improving the living standards. For example, local residents should take care of their villages, houses. “We cannot invest in the development of agro-towns first and then in maintaining proper order there. This is the priority of the people living there,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
