15 children music bands take part Bereginya folklore festival
Fifteen children and youth folklore bands from various parts of Belarus took part in the 4th national folklore art festival Bereginya (keeper, lar), which took place in the town of Oktyabrskiy (Gomel region) on June 1-4. Representatives of the culture department of Oktyabrskiy district executive committee told BelTA, children folklore music bands from Ukraine, Latvia, and Poland also demonstrated their art to guests and participants of the festival.
The festival programme included art contests between soloists and bands. Soloist of Rudabelskiye Zvezdochki folklore music band (Oktyabrskiy district) Svetlana Krasovskaya was granted the grand prix in the nomination “The best performer of Belarusian folklore music”. Magdalinka ensemble (Brest region) was named the best band.
Folk dance classes and classes in traditional songs were organised for participants and guests of the festival. The most prominent event of the festival was a concert involving folklore bands from Ukraine, Latvia, and Poland. An interesting show was staged by children music band “Rudabelskiye Zvezdochki”, “Vesnitsa”, “Krosa” band of the Belarusian state culture and arts university.
Let us remind you, the visiting card of Oktyabrskiy district is the folklore art festival “Bereginya”, which went national in 2004. The event is supposed to attract the public attention to problems of the younger generation education by means of traditional popular art, authentic folklore, stimulation and support of original folk lore in its natural habitat.
The festival was organised by the Belarusian education ministry, Gomel region administration, public association Belarusian Culture Fund.
