An Alley of Sports Glory will appear in Gomel soon.
As BelTA was informed in the department for physical culture, sport and tourism of the Gomel oblast executive committee, the alley will be opened on the territory adjacent to the Ice Palace. Young trees will be planted on each side of the alley. Plates with the names of the best sportsmen of Gomel oblast will be placed there – an Olympic champion, Gomel freeman Leonid Geister, first master of pentathlon in the Republic of Belarus, Honored Coach of Belarus Anatoliy Anisimovskiy and others.
New names of sportsmen are planned to annually appear in the Alley of Sports Glory.
Moreover, booths dedicated to the sports achievements and success of Gomel residents and the leading sports establishments of the oblast town will be installed there as well.
