Around 40 thousand Gomel residents visit international fair Orthodox Belarus
Around 40 thousand residents of Gomel have visited the international spiritual and educational fair Orthodox Belarus since February 10 – the day of the fair’s opening.
The fair is popular among residents of Gomel and the region, director of the project Alexander Savin told BelTA. Daily thousands of Gomel residents visited the oblast sports facility Dinamo which is presenting booths of 60 monasteries and churches of Belarus, Ukraine and Russia. Moreover, residents of the oblast center took part in spiritual and educational events conducted by organizers of the fair: concerts of the Gomel educational establishments’ choirs, lectures for students, the oblast readings dedicated to the Presentation of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Temple.
According to Alexander Savin, the fair allowed the residents of the region not only to get familiar with the traditions of the Orthodox culture of the three neighboring states but also to receive answers which are important for an every man from spiritual literature and during communication with representatives of the Orthodox clergy.
The fair will be finished tomorrow. In the course of the solemn ceremony of the forum’s closing laureates of the fair Orthodox Belarus will be awarded special diplomas.
