Belarus to complete reconstruction and reequipment of 54 regional hospitals by end of year
Within this year Belarus will complete reconstruction and reequipment of 54 regional hospitals, BelTA was informed by healthcare minister of Belarus Vasiliy Zharko.
According to him, the reconstruction and reequipment of operating and intensive care units have being in progress since 2005. In 2007 some 31 more medical institutions will be reequipped.
In line with the target program the overhaul works are funded by oblast budgets while the new equipment is bought by the healthcare ministry for funds of the national budget, Vasiliy Zharko noted.
Due to the target program on reconstruction and reequipment of regional hospitals, these medical establishments will be able to provide sophisticated surgical care earlier unavailable there, raise the number of operations and, hence, the chances for patients’ recovery.
At the moment Gomel oblast has reconstructed and installed new gear in four operation and resuscitation units. By the end of the year six more medical establishments will be reconstructed.
