Belarusian BMZ opens office in Dubai

GOMEL, 28 November (BelTA) - Belarusian Steel Works (BMZ trademark) has expanded its commodity distribution network by opening the company BelmetSteelDMCC with headquarters in Dubai, the biggest city in the United Arab Emirates, BelTA learned from BMZ spokesman Alexander Olesik.

The main objective of the new company is the sale of all kinds of BMZ products on the markers of the Middle East and North Africa. The company will focus on products with a high added value. This is a robust, promising and rather complicated market. Due to the attractiveness and potential of the market, there is tough competition between Turkish manufacturers and representatives of the CIS countries which have recently stepped up efforts to advance their steel products on this market.

According to Commercial Director of BelmetSteelDMCC Tatyana Fomenok, specialists of the company are currently seeking ways to advance on the markets of Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.

In January-October 2014 countries of the Middle East and Africa accounted for about 18% of BMZ sales in money terms. In January-October Egypt and Turkey were among the top ten importers of BMZ products, ranking 4th and 6th respectively.

Founded in 1984, Belarusian Steel Works (BMZ trademark) is the managing company of the holding company BMC. The company manufactures cast bar, structured, rolled and reinforced steel, pipes, metal cord, wires. The company exports nearly 80% of the total output. BMZ employs about 12,000 people.
