Belorusneft, Zarubezhneft plan pilot work in Visha-Termogaz project

GOMEL, 20 July (BelTA) – The companies Belorusneft and Zarubezhneft have decided to do pilot work at installations of the Belarusian-Russian project Visha-Termogaz, representatives of the Belarusian corporation Belorusneft told BelTA. Work to introduce a thermal gas formation stimulation technology will be done at wells of the Vishanskoye oil field, Gomel Oblast. Now Russian and Belarusian specialists are busy designing the process flow and ways to refit the well. After that the sides will sign the relevant contract. The technology will be tested for four years. The Belarusian-Russian project Visha-Termogaz will start the implementation of a large-scale cooperation program meant to develop modern technologies to increase the effectiveness of Belarusian deposits. If successful, the technologies will be patented and copied onto foreign oil service markets. Founded in 1966, Belorusneft corporation is part of the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim. The company searches for, prospects and develops oil deposits, drills wells, extracts oil and associated gas. The Russian company Zarubezhneft was founded in 1967. Zarubezhneft specialists pride themselves on having taken part in the establishment of national oil and gas industries of Iraq, Vietnam, Syria, Yemen, Libya, and other countries. Established in 1981 to explore the south of Vietnam’s shelf plate, the joint venture Vietsovpetro is the most effective overseas project of Zarubezhneft. Since its inception Vietsovpetro has extracted over 190 million tonnes of oil.
