“Black Queen” of Gomel distillery awarded golden medal in Brussels
Products of the republican unitary company “Gomel distillery” won high awards of the seventh international contest-tasting UNITED VODKA-2006 held in Brussels, BelTA was informed by principal quality engineer of the company Larisa Sopot.
The balsam “Black Queen” won a golden medal, the vodka “Elite Super” – bronze. According to Larisa Sopot, the Gomel-based distillery has repeatedly confirmed the high quality of its goods. In recent years “Black Queen” has won eight golden and two silver medals at such international contests.
The international contest-tasting UNITED VODKA is the most prestigious specialized vodka contest in Europe.
The Gomel-based distillery was founded in 1897. The company employs 400 people and makes one million dal (one dal – ten liters) of beverages a year. In January-May 2006 the company produced 421 thousand dals of alcoholic beverages or 27 per cent more against the same period of 2005.
