Chernobyl Readings in Gomel to gather almost 200 scientists worldwide
GOMEL, April 9 (BelTA) – The Chernobyl Readings 2009 International Conference will take place in the Gomel Scientific and Practical Centre for Radiation Medicine and Human Ecology on April 16-17. Nearly 200 scientists and professional physicians are expected to attend the forum, BelTA learnt from Vasilina Yevseyenko, head of the international department of the centre.
The programme of the forum provides a plenary session and various sections. Medical aspects of the Chernobyl power plant accident consequences, radioecological, radiobiological consequences of the catastrophe, their forecasting, radiation epidemiology and radiation safety will be high on the agenda of the debates.
The participants of the conference, representatives of scientific and medical establishments of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and other CIS countries, will exchange research results, implementation of new methods, latest developments in the radiation medicine.
