Every agro-town of Gomel oblast to have clubs and libraries by 2010
Every agro-town of the Gomel oblast will have at least one club equipped with film projectors and a library by 2010. The decision was made at the session of the oblast Council of Deputies on October 25.
According to the head of the culture department of the Gomel oblast executive committee Alexander Prusov, due to the state village revival programme for 2005-2010 extra funds are allocated for repair and upgrade of public leisure facilities in villages every year. Thus, in 2005-2006 over Br 15 billion were allotted for these purposes.
Now as many as 56 public facilities are under construction and reconstruction in the Gomel oblast. This year Br 14.6 billion were allocated for repair and Br 582 million for purchase of new equipment.
Reconstruction of the community center in the agro-town of Tikhinichi of the Rogachev region is nearing completion, it is set to be over by 2007 year-end. Reconstruction of the community center in Lyaskovichi of the Petrikov region has been completed.
