Families of five teachers receive keys to new houses in Gomel oblast
One of the top priorities in rural areas is replenishment of the pedagogical supply, Deputy Education Minister of Belarus Kazimir Farino told a press conference. Some 25% of university graduates who come to work in villages under the job assignment schemes tend to move to other places when their two-year contracts expire.
“Gomel oblast executive committee has found an excellent solution to this problem,” Kazimir Farino said. It has become a tradition to give keys to new houses to young specialists in Gomel oblast. Thus, in August this year, five families working in the educational sphere of Gomel oblast moved to new houses.
Kazimir Farino also reported that the average wage of Belarusian teachers in H1, 2007 was Br 611,900.
