Festival “Play, Accordion!” in Gomel oblast to gather 150 artistes
On July 22, the 5th regional festival of accordion players of the Polesie Region – “Play, Accordion!” will be held in the town of Elsk of the Gomel oblast. The festival will gather 150 artistes.
As BelTA learnt in the culture department of the Elsk region, the festival “Play, Accordion!” has been held in the region since 2000. It is organized by the Elsk Regional Executive Committee and the culture department of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee. The main aim of the festival is to stimulate the development of folk musical traditions and to popularize them among the population.
This year, apart from representatives of the Polesie regions of the Gomel oblast, artistes from the Andrushevka, Volodar-Volynsk and Olevsk regions of the Zhitomir oblast of Ukraine will take part in the festival.
During the festival, the regions-participants will present concert programs and exhibitions of arts and crafts.
