Five districts of Gomel region fulfil state grain purchase order

Five districts of Gomel region have fulfilled the state grain purchase order. Rechitsa district was the first one to do that. This week Bragin, Gomel, Petrikov, and Khoiniki districts entered the best performers list. They have excelled their tasks by 10 per cent already, BelTA was told by the agriculture and food committee of Gomel region administration. The fact that Gomel region was the first region to supply 6,000 tonnes of rapeseeds for oil is a positive one. Actually processing companies received 6,600 tonnes. However, the source stated, the region is experiencing difficulties with grain supply. In several areas crops were badly damaged by draught depriving farmers of acceptable quality food grain. The yield can be used for animal feed only. In particular, Kormyany, Zhlobin, Oktyabr districts have not supplied even half of the required amount yet. On the whole, the region has supplied 105,000 tonnes of grain or 81 per cent of the target. However, the source is convinced, next week the state grain purchase order will be fulfilled thanks to extra supplies from areas where the yield is good. Slightly more than 24,000 tonnes of grain is required to reach the goal.
