“Golden Ring of Gomel Oblast” to be presented in pictures and exhibits
An exhibition dedicated to the sights of the region will open today in the Rumiantsevs - Paskevichs Palace of Gomel.
The exhibition will feature various works and materials which reflect the peculiarities of the settlements included in the Golden Ring of Gomel Oblast. The visitors will able to get familiar with the sights of the Polesje region.
The works created by famous artist Eugeniy Schetikhin from Rechitsa are presented there. These are 13 painting-sculpture creations which show the beauty of Gomel, Rechitsa, Mozyr, Turov, Vetka and other towns and settlements of the itinerary.
The exhibition will also feature arts and crafts which accentuate the specific features of the settlements and archeological finds: rings and tobacco-pipes discovered during archeological digs on the Zamkovaya Mountain in Turov, fragments of the glassware of the 17-18th centuries found by archeologists in Gomel and others.
According to organizers, the exhibition will contribute to popularization of this fascinating itinerary.
