Gomel Engine-Repair Plant and Chinese company launch joint engines production
The Gomel Engine-Repair Plant and the Chinese company Ningbo David Power have set up the joint engines production. The Belarusian company will assemble combustion engines with the capacity of 5-7 kWt. The first batch of the engines is planned to be produced in February this year, BelTA learnt from director of the Gomel plant Nikolai Ermakov.
The new production facility will produce 1000 engines of three models a year. In 2008, the company is expected to produce more than 700 engines. During the first stage, to assemble the engines the plant will use 95% of Chinese parts. In three years, the imported parts are supposed to be substituted for domestic ones.
The Gomel-based Engine-Repair Plant was founded in 1966. The plant repairs diesel engines of various types including E-40 “Detroit” engines. The Gomel company also repairs combine harvesters, tractors MTZ 80(82), T-150 and other agricultural machinery.
