Gomel frontier guards detain illegal migrants from Egypt
Gomel frontier guards have detained a group of illegal migrants from Egypt, BelTA was informed in the press service of the Gomel oblast border troops unit.
Four Egyptians came from the Russian Federation. Having no necessary documents to legally pass the border the migrants were trying to enter Belarus omitting border checkpoints.
According to the preliminary data, first they were going to Ukraine and then to Western Europe. Together with the illegal migrants their guides were detained.
An inquiry has been launched into the incident. The frontier guards do not rule out a possibility of unveiling one of the international channels of illegal migration.
According to the press service, the frontier guards of Gomel oblast have detained more than two tens of trespassers since the beginning of the year.
