Gomel hosts BelTA photo exhibition timed to 65th anniversary of Great Victory
GOMEL, 11 March (BelTA) – BelTA’s photo exhibition “The Winners” opened in the Gavriil Vashchenko Gallery of Gomel on 11 March, BelTA has learnt.
The exposition features more than 70 large-format pictures timed to the 65th anniversary of Great Victory. In the photo you can see participants of the Great Patriotic War.
Grigory Denisenko, the Hero of the Soviet Union, Honorary Citizen of Gomel and the Gomel Oblast, took part in the opening ceremony of the BelTA photo exhibition. He thanked its organizers for the possibility to come back to his military past. “The pictures show our history which can be the pride of all the people including the youth who know about the war not too much,” Grigory Denisenko noted.
Taking part in the opening ceremony were war veterans, representatives of labour collectives and the local authorities, students of Gomel.
Gomel has become the first Belarusian city which welcomed the exhibition. The BelTA photo exhibition will be held in Mogilev, Vitebsk, Grodno and Minsk.
