Gomel international expo to build up co-operation of producers and consumers
The 7th international universal fair "Gomel Spring 2006" will foster further development of mutually beneficial co-operation of producers and consumers, said Gomel region governor during the forum's opening.
He noted, Gomel region occupies a leading place of an industrial region in the country's modern economic space. The region has over 300 large and medium companies, with their share in the country's industrial output making 23 per cent. The region trades with over 90 CIS and non-CIS states. The major trade partners are Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Poland, Holland, Great Britain and the Baltic States. Last year's foreign trade turnover of the region exceeded that of 2004 by 12 per cent and made over USD 5 billion.
This year 190 leading companies from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova and Lithuania showed interest in the international universal exhibition. Their number has doubled against last year.
Themes of the universal forum are not limited. The whole range of industrial products and consumer goods is presented there.
Presentations of companies, new products and services, business and product quality seminars will take place within the exhibition framework.
The international universal exhibition “Gomel Spring 2006” will work till May 26.
