Gomel investment forum is great opportunity for local companies to show their potential
The 3rd Gomel investment forum – 2006 has officially opened today in Gomel. In a welcoming address to the participants governor of the oblast Alexander Yakobson has noted that the forum is a great opportunity for Gomel oblast companies to show their potential while foreign investors has a chance to get familiar with the investment climate of the region.
According to the program, the forum has opened with a plenary meeting. The participants continued the work in section meetings to review in detail investment projects in tourism, processing industry and sci-tech cooperation.
As Alexander Yakobson told BelTA, Gomel oblast has a big potential. Ten most interesting investment projects were presented at the plenary meeting. The oblast seeks to attract foreign capital and investment from other regions of the country.
Attending the forum are more than 160 representatives from 10 countries: officials of the diplomatic missions accredited in Belarus, businessmen, chiefs of the banks and other financial institutions from Slovakia, Serbia and Montenegro, China, Germany, Israel and Russia.
