Gomel Museum of Military Glory is the only museum in Belarus to have among its exhibits a fragment of the Kursk submarine, BelTA was informed by employee of the Security Council Staff of the Belarus-Russia Union State, rear-admiral Anatoliy Romaniuk. As BelTA has already informed, yesterday Gomel Museum of Military Glory opened an exhibition timed to the 100th anniversary of Russia’s undersea fleet and 67th anniversary of the Navy. Representatives of the Russian Navy attended the ceremony. They passed a fragment of the interior shel of the Kursk nuclear submarine to the museum. By the way, this is the second exhibit in the museum’s collection which has something to do with the submarine. Another one is a banner of the USSR presented to the city of Gomel by captain of the nuclear submarine Gennadiy Lyachin. Anatoliy Romaniuk added that the representatives of the Russian fleet, among whom there are many Belarusians, will continue rendering assistance in replenishing collection of the museum.
