Gomel oblast awarded Honorary State Banner of Belarus
On January 18, during a solemn sitting, Chairman of the Council of Republic of Belarus’ National Assembly Gennady Novitsky conferred the Honorary State Banner of Belarus on the Gomel oblast. The region has been awarded the decoration in recognition of its special achievements in the national economy and the 70th anniversary since its founding.
During the session, the Speaker of the Upper House read out a letter of congratualtions the Belarusian President, presented the Certificate of Honour to the authorities of the region and congratulated the participants of the session upon the anniversary date.
In turn, Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Alexander Yakobson thanked the leadership of the country for the high appraisal of the oblast’s achievements and assured that the Gomel oblast will justify these awards by hard labour for the benefit of the Motherland.
