Gomel Oblast Executive Committee celebrates18 young talents
Today, Alexander Yakobson, the Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee, has awarded 18 talented young residents of the oblast with prizes. The annual ceremony was held at the Gomel-based Rumyantsevs-Paskevichs Palace.
The young talents are students of secondary specialised education institutions, of children music and arts schools, and artists of theatres and other entertainment centres of the region. The awardees are winners of various arts festivals and international contests.
During the ceremony Alexander Yakobson noted, the support of young talents is one of the state policy priorities. It is important that this support should be provided at the local level too. “The Gomel oblast has been native place of many talented people including People’s Artist of Belarus, Professor Mikhail Finberg, artists Nikolai Skorikov, Maksim Sopatkov, Ksenia Sitnik. And as we see, this list is continued…” the head of the oblast said.
Attending the awarding ceremony was the Chairman of the Chamber of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, Vladimir Konoplev.
