Gomel oblast to inaugurate two children’s homes of family type
The Gomel oblast will inaugurate two children’s homes of family type by the end of 2007. The region is set to construct six more establishments of this type by the end of 2010, Vladimir Petrusenko, the first deputy chief of the education department of the Gomel oblast executive committee, told BelTA.
The construction of a children’s home of family type is over in the town of Streshin, the Zhlobin regime. Around Br404 million was injected into its construction. In accordance with the project there is a children’s playground and a kitchen garden near the house. The same house will be delivered in Vetka.
A children’s home of family type represents a foster family bringing up from five to ten orphans or children left without parental care (the number of children including own and foster children should not exceed ten).
Last year 56 children were adopted in Gomel oblast; 69 - over the nine months this year.
