Gomel oblast to settle housing problems of best local athletes this year
Gomel oblast is set to provide best local athletes with housing by the end of the year, chief of the oblast representative office of the National Olympic Committee Aleksei Kugayev told BelTA.
In his words, the housing problems will be addressed through a social project which is underway in the region under the patronage of the National Olympic Committee. Athletes and Gomel sports officials will have an opportunity to get soft loans. The construction of three many-storey buildings will be completed this year.
The interlocutor said that winners and participants of international competitions will be the first on the list. They will have the right to choose the floor and flat’s number. It is noteworthy that superstitious sportsmen will not be offered apartments #13.
According to Alexei Kugayev, the first 108-apartment bloc of the Olympyisky compound located in Central district will be commissioned in May. Adjacent to the building are sports ground and a car park. Among the future inhabitants is last year’s world Greco-Roman wrestling champion Alim Selimov.
