Gomel oblast wins second amateur ice hockey tournament
MINSK, April 20 (BelTA) – The final of the second national amateur ice hockey tournament for the Prizes of the President’s Sports Club took place in the Minsk Palace of Sports on April 19.
The team of the Gomel oblast defeated the team of the President of Belarus, last year’s winner, 9-8 (4-3, 2-2, 3-3) to take the title.
The best scorers were forwards Mikhail Klimin from the Gomel oblast and Andrei Astashevich from the President’s team (3 goals each).
The goalkeeper Dmitry Kuzntesov and defenseman Alexander Alekseev were recognized most valuable players of the match.
The tournament was organized by the national state-public association “President’s Sports Club”, Ministry of Sport and Tourism of Belarus, the Ice Hockey Federation of the Republic of Belarus and Minsk City Council.
