Gomel region farmers have harvested one third of the grain crops area.
Head of the crop production stimulation department of Gomel region administration’s agriculture and food committee Mikhail Kolesnikov told BelTA, as of August 3 the region harvested over 32 per cent of the grain crops area, with 274,000 tons of grain collected. According to the specialist, the average yield makes 24-25 centners per hectare.
The best Gomel region harvesters are already noticeable. Rechitsa district has harvested over 45 per cent of the crops area, with the grain yield figure of 31 centners per hectare making the region’s best. Rechitsa district agricultural companies are the best ones in the region as well. Krasnoye Znamya company’s grain yield made 52.4 centners per hectare, which is the region’s highest result.
