Gomel rescue rangers had to get a she-beaver out of trouble.
Today Gomel regional emergency response and rescue regiment received an unusual call. On Gomel’s outskirts city residents saw a she-beaver in a huge puddle near a motorway. Press secretary of the regional emergency department Ruslan Gabrilev told BelTA, the wild animal was in a real trouble. The animal could have got hurt by a vehicle or careless people, which is why the on-duty team went to the site immediately.
The animal was trapped with special networks. It turned out the she-beaver was pregnant. After the rescue operation she was set free in the Sozh river.
Representatives of the regional natural resources and environmental protection committee informed, such animals can rarely be seen in the city. They can turn up in densely populated areas only when ill or in search for food.
